The Story
From tech to small business advocacy
I'm Connor O'Hearn, the founder of Maai Designs and Maai Services Group. My background is in technology and AI — building systems that automate complex processes and make sophisticated tools accessible to people who aren't technical.
Living in Savannah, I saw the same pattern everywhere: talented business owners — plumbers, restaurant owners, salon operators, nonprofit leaders — who were incredible at their craft but invisible online. They were either paying thousands to agencies that over-promised and under-delivered, or they were getting by with a free website builder that made them look amateur.
The traditional agency model is broken for small businesses. Long contracts, inflated prices, slow timelines, and results that don't justify the cost. I knew there had to be a better way — and with AI, there is.

Before launching Maai Designs, I spent years working with venture-backed startups and some of the largest technology companies in the world — building and scaling products, managing complex technical systems, and seeing firsthand how enterprise teams approach marketing and growth.
Inside those companies, the playbook was clear: invest in tooling, automate the repeatable work, and let humans focus on strategy and relationships. That's how a 20-person growth team can outproduce a 200-person agency. The constraint wasn't talent. It was leverage.
That experience revealed a gap. Small businesses deserve the same quality of marketing that large companies get — but they shouldn't need a $10,000/month budget to get it. The only thing standing between a Savannah business owner and enterprise-grade marketing was the tooling they didn't have access to.
Maai Designs is the answer to that. We built our own AI-powered tools so we could deliver the scope and quality of an enterprise marketing team at a price a local business can actually afford.
